Musicians need to be P.R.O.F.E.S.S.I.O.N.A.L

As a musician I recently heard some great advice from a drumming living legend, Mike Michalkow. He has been doing some great work with the guys from RailRoad Media Inc, Drumeo.com and Freedrumminglessons.com as a drum teacher/tutor and professional drummer.  In one of his own video lessons, he explained the importance of being professional as a musician. Below is the word: PROFESSIONAL and how we can use it as an acronym for important things to remember, especially when song-writing, rehearsing or gigging

P - Prepare: Know your music, your craft and your set list
R - Reliable: Always be dependable
O - On time: Always be punctual and on time.
F - Flexible: Be easy to work with and accept new ideas
E - Eager: Be excited about your craft, music and what you are playing
S - Serious: You need to be serious about what you are doing for it to succeed
S - Soulful: Always bring the groove
I - Intuition: Listen to your intuition. It will guide you through the toughest times
O - Optimistic: Always remain positive.
N - Never Give Up: Perseverance is indeed everything
A - Appearance, Attitude: This stands for two things to remember. Always look the part, and always act the part
L - Love what you do: This is the reason we do what we do. Let it show
